Comfort is the Enemy

You feel comfy sitting under the guise that everything that’s happening is ‘real’ and that it will be taken care of and then everything will be fine.

You pretend that you trust it all so that you can pretend that you’re comfortable so that you can pretend to sleep well at night.

In reality you wake up exhausted after spending an evening self-medicating yourself in front of your over-dramatic ‘programs’ on the tv before you sleepwalk to a job that you hate for the majority of your day.

Then you come home and repeat the cycle.

You eat like shit.

You sleep like shit.

You work like shit.

You think like shit.

Is it any wonder that you’re susceptible to the fear induced drama that’s being handed down to you in piles right now?

Somehow you trust that this is all normal.

That this is the way it’s supposed to be.

This is life.

So you pretend that you’re fine because the alternative requires a lot of uncomfortable effort and a lot of uncomfortable thoughts.

It’s okay...everyone is doing it.

It’s just how it is.

No big deal.

Keep telling yourself whatever it is you need to tell yourself.

But I’m here to tell you that comfort is your enemy.

It’s a choice to be comfortable for now....but living in comfort today leads to unwelcome discomfort later....there is no escape and 2020 is the motherfucker that’s trying to wake you up to these facts.

YOU are the only one who can help you.

Life is going to be hard regardless.

It’s hard because you allow it to be dictated by drama and narrative outside your control.

Or it’s hard because you work to develop the resolve and the grit required to live a thoughtful and sovereign

It’s hard because you follow blindly.

Or it’s hard because you lead through adversity.

It’s hard by choice through awareness and effort.

Or it’s hard by accident because we aren’t paying attention and we’re going with the flow.

Your mentality has to be harder than your life is.

Choose your hard.

I’ve chosen mine.
